Friends,
It is my great honor to be nominated for the
Third Annual CTIA B!G Idea Contest Award in the category of The Mobile
Visionary. It is always a wonderfully humbling experience when my name gets
thrown in the ring for something like this, and it keeps me passionate about
the work that I am doing. Win or lose, just the fact that I’m being considered
for such an accolade is amazing to me.
When I got into this industry, I certainly
didn’t consider myself a “mobile visionary.” I was just a guy who believed that
mobile technology could be used to improve people’s quality of life and help
keep them safe. But I suppose that was a kind of vision: the vision of a world
that had been made better, not worse, by these powerful technologies. I still
believe in this basic premise, and I still see the world becoming a better
place through the proper implementation of mobile technologies.
I’m extremely proud of the work I have done
over the past year, and am grateful that other people seem to appreciate it
too. This nomination is the icing on the cake for me for the past year. This
nomination has served as a great opportunity for me to stop and reflect on the
past year and some of the things I’ve been fortunate enough to participate in.
The acquisition of Ad Shark by Monster Offers really stands out for me, as does
gaining The Denver Post as a client for the company. And of course, all the
Text Kills events I was able to do for schools and businesses remind me of the
way that technology can sometimes be powerful enough to save lives. I am a
very, very lucky man to be able to have these opportunities.
Am I a mobile visionary? I don’t know. I’m
just a guy who believes that technology can help make the world a better place
for all of us.
